    Sarah and Joseph are based in  Whetstone, London N20
    We understand that your child is your most precious gift and that entrusting her/him to our care
    involves many considerations. Working closely with parents,we aim to give your child a secure,
    nurturing and stimulating environment, with lots of individual attention.  Together we can ensure
    that your child trusts the childminding setting, has their needs met and achieves familiarity and
    a creative bond with the other children and their minder. We have an extensive children’s book
    and toy library -(all toys conform to CE standards),  musical facilities including piano; pc & printer;



    TV, DVD and video facilities. We enjoy  a very large south-facing child-safe garden, well equipped
    with fun activities for your child to stretch their wings. eg. sandpit and accessories,  giant bubble machine,
    home corner & igloo,see-saw, slide, netball,rocking toys and tricycle. In addition, our premises are adjacent to
    a lovely playground which Barnet council maintains.

  • We are both fully qualified Childminders, having graduated from First Aid and Introduction
    to Childcare Practice courses set by  CACHE. In addition, our premises have been approved
    by Ofsted, we have satisfied health, social services and CRB (police) checks.

  • We belong to the National Childminding Association and adhere to the highest possible standards.   We  regularly go on approved
       courses to  update and improve  our skills on a wide variety of  relevant  issues such as food hygiene, Epi-Pen, and Equal Opportunities.
       We have both gained our NVQ3  in Childcare Learning & Development qualification.  We are both fully qualified Fire Marshals, trained
       by StJohn Ambulance  and our premises are  well equipped with fire safety products. We also have a thorough fire escape
       plan and  teach fire drills to the children in our care, as well as road safety skills and management for other daily   hazards.

  • We have already finished studying for the Early Years Foundation  Stage Principles which replaces  the "Birth to Three Matters"
         framework. We use the 6 areas of Learning to inform our assessments and planning for supporting your child's
         development and identify where this support is needed.

  • We conduct risk assessments for all new activities and maintain robust security systems for your child's
    protection, including CCTV for the garden which is totally enclosed,  baby monitor in the home, distance monitors,
    personal alarms and identity tags for your child when out and about.

  • Smoking is prohibited on our premises

  • We both hold full, clean driving licences


  • We take children on outings, eg to the local theatre (The Barnet Arts depot which regularly produces many
    fantastic children's shows) London Aquarium, toy library, Natural History Museum baby gym,  garden centre,
    Willows  Farm    where your child can say  hello to Farm animals, ride a trailer, use the bouncy castle and fairground
    rides for a treat.

  • We teach hygiene, safety, health, good manners and sharing.

  • Daisychain provides meals and transportation (eg school run) where required.

  • We have full public liability insurance. We also have full business insurance for our
    comfortable car which is equipped with approved, adjustable child and booster seats
    (new EU law states that children 11 years and younger must use child seats whilst travelling in the car).

  • Through Homeminder Insurance/Axa we have full home and contents insurance suitable for our Childminding premises.




  • French tuition* is  available at a small extra fee to give your child that head start.
    * Sarah has a BA (Hons) 2:1 in French Studies from London University and speaks the language fluently.
     We have a great children's French library to support your child's love for learning the language.


  • Full Policy documents available upon request.
